Pigs In A Blanket With Breakfast Sausages & Bacon

This is a great little recipe for the kids to have a go with and an easy way to get the boys in the kitchen too. We cook our Pigs in a Blanket in the oven but you can also throw them on the BBQ too! Serve with your selection of dips to discover your favourite flavour combination.

Ingredients

We use our breakfast sausages in this recipe but you can easily use any other sausage and simply chop them in half or thirds to make a cocktail option. You will want half the amount of bacon to sausages.

2pks Breakfast Sausages
1pk Streaky Bacon (Try our Apple Cured or Himalayan Salt & Apple Cured bacon for an extra flavour boost)
Cocktail sticks or rosemary sprigs to secure

Directions

  • Cut each rasher of bacon in half and stretch them with a knife; run the back of a knife along the length of each rasher of bacon to flatten and stretch them slightly - this stops them shrinking during cooking.
  • Wrap one half rasher of bacon around each sausage, making sure that the seal is underneath the bacon/sausage roll.
  • Skewer with a cocktail stick or rosemary sprig, if necessary.
  • Place on a lightly greased oven tray and roast in a pre-heated oven, 200C, for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bacon is cooked and crisp.

Serve with a selection of dips like cranberry sauce, tomato sauce, bbq sauce or a sauce of your own creation!
